Headsets & Spacers

What Are the Different Types of Bike Headsets?

For the purposes of keeping things straightforward, we will look at two bike headset types - threaded and threadless. Threaded bike headsets are typically found on older bikes and refer to components that use threaded steering tubes and are secured with locknuts. Threadless bike headsets refer to components found on more modern kit, and involve the stem clamping the fork steerer tube.

Why Are Spacers for a Bike Important?

Not only do they tailor the bike to you (by securing the perfect handlebar height), but, in doing so, they can also reduce any strain on your upper body. They also play a safety role in helping secure the stem correctly on the steerer tube.
