What Pressure Should Bike Tyres Be?

The pressure depends on the type of tyres for bikes. Generally speaking, a kid’s bike will have a PSI of around 20-40. Adult road bikes will typically have a PSI of 80 to 130. As you move away from smooth surfaces and narrow tyres, the PSI decreases. So a hybrid PSI will sit around 50 to 70, whilst a mountain bike tends to be as low as 30 PSI for off-road adventuring.

Can You Put Hybrid Tyres On a Road Bike?

Depending on the type of riding, there are specific tyres for bikes and it is best to match them accordingly. That said, you may be able to get away with putting a hybrid tyre on a road bike, but it depends on your fork, brakes and frame. We recommend erring on the side of caution and purchasing the right tyre for the type of bike you have.
