The Kazakh Champion repeats stage 2 win claiming a beautiful success in Tour of Oman’s stage 3 with Northwave Extreme Pro
Astana Pro Team and Northwave claimed another stage win at Tour of Oman (2.HC). Kazakh Champion Alexey Lutsenko repeated the success of stage 2 in Al Bustain, claiming stage 3 - 192,5 Km from Shati to Qurum a Qurayyat - on Monday February 18th.
The 26-year-old Northwave rider unleashed the decisive attack in the last ascent, taking advantage of the XFrame2® patented technology of his Extreme Pro shoes, securing maximum power transmission on pedals also thanks to the top-performing Powershape® Carbon 15 outsole.
Lutsenko preceded on the finish line Spain’s Jesus Herrada and Olympic Champion Greg Van Avermaet, conquering the overall lead with 18 seconds on Herrada and 20” on Belgian Van Avermaet.
The Kazakh rider leads the Points Classification (30) ahead of another Northwave athlete, UAE Team Emirates’ Alexander Kristoff (27) - winner of the opening stage - and Herrada (12). In addition, Northwave leads the Youth Classification with Team Dimension Data’s Ryan Gibbons, tenth in Qurayyat.
